Local attractions

We appreciate that many delegates will be bringing their families with them to the conference in Windermere and will have plenty of time to explore the local area.

Windermere is surrounded by extraordinary landscape and with Englands largest lake on its doorstep, the area is packed with things to do. 

Activities, events and walks in the lakes - There are numerous events and things to do all across the Lake District, celebrating the local culture, wildlife, scenery and much more. These range from attractions and activities across the region, family days out, bird watching, nature walks and much more. These events are spread across the region, so no matter where you are, you can find a local activity to participate in! 

Leisure activities - Whether you're looking for watersports, rock climbing or time to unwind, there is plenty on offer locally to the Low Wood Hotel. Just opposite the hotel is the Low Wood Bay Watersports Centre and here you can take in a wide range of activities with instruction and boat hire suitable for all ages and abilities.

There are several bus routes that will help you get around the area. Buses stop at Windermere train station, Troutbeck, Waterhead, Ambleside, Lakeside and Newby Bridge. Frequent buses are:
